Laguna Beach, California

Life is driving South on a Sunday, in a cabriolet.

Hi friends! Hope you’re all well and living your life to the fullest.

It’s really easy to get caught up in the thought that we can be happier somewhere else, away from everything. I live so far away from home, yet I still sometimes think that it could even be better somewhere else. There is so much world to see and I always want to travel - but I sadly don’t always appreciate what I already have because, well, I’m too focused on exploring other places. So when I feel like this, I like driving a little bit out of L.A. and it reminds me how much I love it here. The ocean, the palms, the South Cali feelings that I like so much.

Earlier this year, G. and I drove south and went to Laguna Beach. I’ve been there twice before, but never actually spent too much time. We mostly walked along the beach in the center of Laguna, and I was just happy. Feeling lucky to spend a day at the beach in winter. We mostly wandered around, sat and looked at the ocean, talked about everything and anything, ate some ice cream and sat some more until sunset. It was a Sunday like I like them and it really reminded me that sometimes, we don’t need much.

In Laguna, I like looking up at the houses on the hills and imagine what it must feel like to wake up and being able to watch the ocean every day. I always thought it must bring some peacefulness to a morning. I would definitely want to live in the O.C. if I were to stay in Cali.

If you want to visit Laguna, make sure to stop by the main beach, but explore a little around because there are so much more to see and especially some great beaches. The center is really nice, but rather small and the beach gets really crowded in the summer. We did not go to another beach this time because we didn’t plan to - we really just wanted to walk around, simply living the day as it came.
